   This album isn't getting the respect it deserves from A&M. All the earlier Strawbs albums from "Just a Collection of Antiques and Curios" up to "Ghosts" has been released on CD by A&M, and released respectfully from Japan and Germany. This CD of "Nomadness" is released on some unknown release label from Australia called Progressive Line (Records)/5(26).

   Reissue comes with two bonus tracks and a page booklet including a biography written by Mark Powell and lyrics. This album was originally released as A&M AMLH , November Recorded at Sound Techniques, Chelsea, June/July Remastered at The Audio Archiving Company /5(17).

   This chameleon of an album sounds more like ten different bands on a compilation than a unified Strawbs effort; fortunately, those ten bands are very good indeed. The album roars to life with spot-on imitations of Peter Gabriel in "To Be Free" and the Who in the windmilling riffs of "Little Sleepy." The bluesy torch song "Absent Friend" features some fine piano work and pensive electric guitar 9/

   NOMADNESS, What was to be the Strawbs' last studio album for A&M Records saw them turn away from the big keyboard sound that had characterised the last few albums (they'd just lost John Hawken who was not replaced by a full-time keyboard player - Andy Richards - .

   Nomadness was the final Strawbs album for the A&M label and this fact alone contributes to the overall depression surrounding its release. No UK tour was undertaken at the time to promote the album and for whatever reason no singles were released from the album (apart from one USA promo radio single of "Little Sleepy" and definitely not the best choice of a single for radio airplay when there were far .
